Show - Dragon University

Dragon University is an interactive show in which audience members are picked to participate in a class about dragons. These "students" will get to pet "real" dragons and learn about the various different kinds of dragons. This show is 30 minutes long and is located within The Dragon's Den area of the park next to The Lair of the Dragon roller coaster (I will post about this in the future).

Dragon University is suitable for all ages.

Park Info - Themed Areas

Within Anderson Park, there are many themed areas and sections. Before I post any ideas, I think it is necessary to tell you what they are.

Marine Midway- This is an area featuring aquatic theming.

Park Entry Plaza- This is the front gate area where guests can relax, shop, and eat before getting heavily into the park.

This is similar to Downtown Disney and CityWalk at Disney and Universal parks respectively.

Choo Choo Country- This area features rides, shops, restaurants, and shows pertaining to railroads and trains.

Canyon Creek- This is the Western-themed area of the park (This area has a sub-section, the Campbell Mining Camp.)

Safari Realm- This area is animal-themed.

Music City- This area contains theming related to music and all of its different genres.

Kiddy Korner- This area is themed for kids and families.

Kiddy Korner also has two mascots, Andy and Tracy Alligator.

Forest of Fantasy- This area is themed around nursery rhymes and fairy tales. This, like Kiddy Korner, is a great family area.

The Dragon’s Den- This area's theming is related to dragons.

The Dragon's Den has a mascot, Derek the Dragon.

Garden Grove- This area contains many gardens and garden-themed attractions.

Park Info - Speed Line

The Speed Line system is used heavily throughout Anderson Park, therefore, I think it is necessary to define it before I post any ideas for rides.

The Speed Line system allows guests to get a ticket that will enable them to come back to an attraction at a later time if the attraction has a long queue waiting time.

This is similar to the Fast Pass system at Disney parks and the Flash Pass system at Six Flags parks.

Roller Coaster - Maniac Miner

The Maniac Miner was one of the first ideas that I came up with three years ago when I started to plan this park. The ride is located in the Canyon Creek section of the park, but is within the Campbell Mining Camp area.

The queue starts in a mine shaft. Inside there are bulletins and warning signs about a Maniac Miner. The queue keeps going along while pictures and equipment are on the walls. A door opens about halfway through the queue, guests enter an elevator. Inside, a siren bellows as a megaphone shouts,

“Get out quickly! It’s the Miner! He’s back! The Maniac Miner! He’s cursed the mine trains!”

Elevator drops quickly. Guests get out of elevator and go up to queue gate. Guests enter trains and start climbing the lift. Train rolls over hill and starts to twist through curves. Trains then go through some mine shafts and go up another lift. Trains roll down and go back underground through more mine shafts. Guests then go up the third lift. Trains roll over and go through an underground water tunnel. Trains go up another hill and go through some helixes. Trains then glide back into the station. Guests exit through another mine sha
ft into the Campbell Mine Company Store.

Maniac Miner is a Vekoma mine train coaster, has a minimum height requirement of 44 in.,and accepts Speed Line passes.

Welcome!

As the author of Thematic Ideas, I would like to welcome you to this new blog. On here, I will be sharing the many ideas that I have for a theme park, Anderson Park. While the order in which I will post ideas will be random, the topic of each post will be categorized on the right-hand side of the screen.

I will be posting ideas for shops, restaurants, hotels, rides, shows, and various other attractions for Anderson Park. Before I start, the reader must understand a few things:

a) Anderson Park is not a real theme park. Please do not ask for directions or other details regarding the fictional park.

b) Please do not steal my ideas. These ideas are unique to my vision and I would like them to stay within the blog.

c) Readers are encouraged to comment on the ideas posted and artists are encouraged to submit concept art designs for the ideas presented.

Other than those three tidbits, there's not much more to say. Enjoy the ideas and happy reading!
